IFAT CHINA 2006 Provides Marketplace for Environmental Protection

May 18, 2006

IFAT CHINA 2006 will feature some 11,000 square meters of practice-oriented solutions in the sectors for water, supply, sewage, recycling, air pollution, environmental technology and environmentally sound energy sources. Around 250 international and Chinese entrepreneurs and those in charge of environmental protection in public agencies will meet at this networking platform to discuss business and establish contacts. For the first time, the U.S. will participate with a pavilion at IFAT CHINA.

Companies participating in IFAT CHINA profit from the competence and contacts of the Munich Trade Fairs International Group, which has vast experience organizing events in China and has been holding IFAT, the leading international trade fair for waste disposal and the environment, since 1966 in Munich, Germany.

Munich Trade Fairs International Group (MMI) and the co-organizer China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization (CARCU) managed to adapt the successful concept of IFAT in Munich to the Chinese market. In 2004, a total of 9,500 visitors from 69 countries attended the four-day fair; 84% of them were from China, and they came from all parts of the country. Participants of IFAT CHINA reported that they had excellent contacts and promising business opportunities; 95% of the visitors as well as 90% of the exhibitors said that they intend to come back to participate in the next edition of IFAT CHINA.

The range of products and services on display at IFAT CHINA 2006 is rounded out by a professional accompanying program. The Technical-Scientific Conference Program consists of 100 international lectures and additional discussions. These events deal with the key themes of IFAT CHINA—water and wastewater management, air pollution, waste management and renewable energies. Speakers include prominent experts from the international and Chinese environmental-technology community, from the German Ministries of Environment and the German Ministry of Education and Research, Chinese Government and Universities.

An Asia Special—with focus on China, Japan and the Republic of Korea—includes technical lectures, panel discussions and presentations from exhibitors from the participating countries. International exhibitors will present their solutions, products and services as well.

At IFAT CHINA’s Environment Special, experts and authorities will highlight environmental protection programs of Bavaria and its partner provinces Guangdong and Shandong. IFAT CHINA’s Environment Special will be held under the patronage of Dr. Werner Schnappauf, the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Protection.

A Design Institute Day will serve as a platform for planners, designers, professionals, management and authorities to share their respective expertise and fields of specialties for the successful integration of design and environmental engineering.

IFAT CHINA 2006 will take place at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the most modern exhibition center in China. It meets the highest technical standards, features an abundance of exhibition space and is easy to reach using all forms of transportation.
