Hydro Intl., a provider of environmentally sustainable products and innovative solutions that control and treat storm water, wastewater and combined sewer overflows, has announced a new market-focused U.S. business structure poised to take advantage of increasing opportunities in the municipal wastewater, storm water and wet-weather markets.

The company’s wastewater operation, based in Hillsboro, Ore., brings Hydro and Eutek Systems, which Hydro purchased in May 2008, under one roof.

The wet-weather operation, based in Portland, Maine, oversees the company’s innovative solutions designed to improve management of wet-weather flows within collection systems and wastewater treatment plants including combined sewer overflows, sanitary sewer overflows and storm discharges at wastewater treatment plants.

The U.S. storm water operation, also based in Portland, Maine, provides a full range of solutions to control and treat urban runoff from MS4 communities with separate storm sewer and sanitary sewer systems. Hydro’s portfolio of treatment products include filters and vortex separators, which are used to comply with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations requiring the removal of “nonpoint source” pollutants from storm water runoff.

“This new organizational structure gives Hydro a renewed focus on strategic segments of the U.S. water market that will allow us to better serve the needs of our customers,” said Chris Williams, chief operating officer of Hydro Intl. “These operations are positioned to build on our long history of innovation and top quality service and capitalize on growth potential in our target markets.”
