Hydraulic Institute to Present at Pump Summit Americas Conference

Conference will take place in Houston, Texas, on June 13 and 14

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) is participating in the Pump Summit Americas Conference June 13 and 14, 2016, in Houston, Texas. HI will be sharing its knowledge and perspective at several sessions during the conference. End-users, owners, operators and pump industry professionals are all encouraged to attend.

On Monday, June 13, HI’s Executive Director Michael Michaud will be presenting a plenary session overview of the DOE Pump Regulations. During the Monday morning workshop from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Peter Gaydon, HI’s director of technical affairs, will be moderating a session on Rotodynamic Centrifugal Pumps, Design & Application. HI will then host a Pumps 101 training course from 1:30 to 6 p.m. to help attendees understand centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and best practices in reliability and maintenance processes. The course instructor is William C. Livoti of WEG Electric Corp. Registration for the Pumps 101 course is available at the Pump Summit America website.

HI programming on Tuesday, June 14, includes a morning workshop on Power Station Pumps led by Henri Azibert, technical director, Fluid Sealing Assn., with panelists from Flowserve, WEG and General Rubber. Afternoon workshops include Positive Displacement Pumps, Design and Application, moderated by Bob Heyl, independent consultant, and Variable Speed Drives, Installation, Application and Troubleshooting, moderated by Julian Atchia, SJE-Rhombus, with speakers from ABB Baldor, Schneider Electric – Square D and WEG. A panel discussion on Pump System Optimization moderated by William C. Livoti of WEG Electric Corp with panelists from Exxon Mobile, Luminant and Bechtel Eng. will round out the afternoon. The Power Station Pump and VFD workshops are based on the HI guidebooks of the same name and the PSO workshop is based on the full-day Pump System Optimization Course.
