Environmental Business Intl. presented the awards at the annual Environmental Industry Summit

CH2M Hill announced that the company’s environmental projects and acquisition were recognized by the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) and Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ), as part of the publications’ annual Business Achievement Awards program. These awards recognize exceptional business performance in the environmental industry in categories such as revenue growth, acquisitions, innovative project designs, new practice areas, new technology development, social contributions, industry leadership and more.

CH2M Hill projects that received award recognition in 2014 include:

  • Development of the Coastal Change Adaptation Planning Guidance for the U.K.’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, which defines a four-stage approach to control and manage coastal change risks for existing and future development through the planning system.
  • Investigation and assessment of explosives contamination at the World War II Defence Site Maribyrnon in Victoria, Australia, which enabled the Australian Department of Defence to move forward with critical planning needed to remediate the site and divest the 127 hectare property for redevelopment.

The company also received an EBJ award for its acquisition of Canada-based TERA Environmental Consultants, which expanded the firm’s offerings in siting, licensing, permitting and environmental planning services for Canada’s pipeline, power line, and oil and gas industries.

“CH2M Hill is honored to receive the EBJ/CCBJ awards, but this achievement would not be possible without the partnerships we have with such great clients around the world,” said John Mogge, CH2M Hill's director of technology, practice and design. “Our employees thrive by working with our clients to solve complex challenges and thereby advance the environmental and climate change industries.”

The 2014 EBJ and CCBJ Business Achievement Awards were presented March 12, 2015, during a ceremony at the Environmental Industry Summit XIII—an annual three-day event hosted by Environmental Business Intl. Inc. in San Diego.
