FMC Hires Water Treatment Technology Applications Manager

Dr. Au will guide new product development efforts and will provide technical leadership on water and wastewater treatment processes to FMC customers

FMC Corp. announced that Dr. Kwok-Keung (Amos) Au has joined the Global Peroxygens water treatment division as the technology applications manager for water treatment.

In his role as technology applications manager, Dr. Au will support FMC’s North American market water treatment business. He will guide new product development efforts and will provide technical leadership on water and wastewater treatment processes to FMC customers, including environmental engineering firms, public and private water utilities, and federal and state agencies.

“With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Dr. Au brings to FMC in-depth knowledge and expertise in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment technologies and markets,” said Alberto Garibi, director, water treatment. “We are confident that Dr. Au will provide strong leadership to generate growth and innovation in water treatment.”

Having held technology management positions at American Water Co. and Greeley & Hansen LLC, Dr. Au joins FMC from Carus Corp., where he served as water technology development manager and was responsible for research and development in the municipal water and wastewater market. He led a team that pioneered new products and technologies, supporting market growth through strategic innovation.

Dr. Au earned his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from John Hopkins University and has published more than 80 technical papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals. In 2004, he co-authored a World Health Organization (WHO) book titled “Water Treatment and Pathogen Control: Process Efficiency in Achieving Safe Drinking Water,” as part of his efforts in supporting the WHO guidelines for drinking water quality.
