The FBI wants to obtain DNA evidence from a couple suspected in its probe of a recent attempted bombing at a Michigan water bottling plant. The plant taps an underground spring for Ice Mountain bottled water.
Detroit residents Marie Mason and her husband, Frank Ambrose, will reportedly fight the FBI subpoenas, believing they are targets of a federal intimidation campaign meant to silence environmental protesters. Mason and Ambrose deny any involvement in the bombing case.
The timed bomb was discovered and then disarmed September 22 in an unstaffed pumping station in Mecosta County, Mich. No arrests have been made.
