The Water Environment Federation (WEF) scheduled a series of community and student-focused events at WEF’s 89th annual technical exhibition and conference, WEFTEC 2016. The final event is Monday, Sept. 26.
The Students and Young Professionals Networking and Career Fair is an opportunity to expand students’ knowledge of career opportunities in the water sector; network with peers and top water business leaders; and acquire better interviewing skills. Top U.S. and Canada environmental firms interested in hiring entry-level candidates will be available to informally meet with students. The event is Monday, Sept. 26, 1 to 4 p.m., in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.
Organized by WEF’s Students & Young Professionals Committee, the events are designed to promote participation, foster networking and knowledge exchange, and encourage involvement in the cause of clean water within the water profession and the local community. The career fair was preceded by the Water Palooza, the WEF Community Service Project and the WEF Student Design Competition.
Student registration for WEFTEC 2016 is complimentary for WEF student members and $55 for non-members with proper student identification. The student registration includes access to all technical sessions, the exhibition floor and the Stormwater Congress.
