El Paso to Tap Water Funding

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill authorizing $25 million to improve El Paso, Texas County's water and waste-water facilities, U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-El Paso, said.

The authorization in the Water Resources Development Act of 2003 is targeted at El Paso's need for improved water services and availability, particularly in the colonias.

The act is a multi-year authorization bill for the Army Corps of Engineers water projects and programs.
