Park Water Receives AWWA Safety Award

Park Water will receive the Larry C. Larson Safety Award at the 2014 California/Nevada Section of AWWA Fall Conference

Park Water Co. received the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) California/Nevada Larry C. Larson Safety Award. Park Water received this award through its commitment to make public and employee health and safety a top priority.

"Safety and service are core values in our culture. Our employees think about public and employee safety in all their actions to serve," stated Park Water General Manager Jeanne-Marie Bruno. "We have a continuous focus toward on the job training and education and reinforce these values."

Few water utilities receive the Larry C. Larson Safety Award due to stringent criteria the California/Nevada Section AWWA Section bases the nominees. Actual recipients of the award must meet a stringent list of safety criteria rooted deep within the water utility over time. Recipients are required to provide extensive safety information that includes OSHA or equivalent safety information, any injuries, and productive work hours for at least a half-decade; training; commitments to safety including written safety and health program manual, policy; accountability in job descriptions, performance evaluations; and hazard identification and controls; and more.

The California/Nevada Section of AWWA established Larry C. Larson Safety Award in 1989 for water utilities with an outstanding and unequaled safety record. Park Water will receive the award at the 2014 California/ Nevada Section of AWWA Fall Conference.
