Dow Water & Process Solutions to Unveil New Technology at AMTA 2009

July 9, 2009
New brackish water membrane elements will be unveiled at the show, July 13 to 16 in Austin, Texas

Dow Water & Process Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Co. and a leading global supplier of advanced technologies for purification and separation processes that make water safer, cleaner and more available, will present during the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) 2009 Annual Conference and Exposition in Austin, Texas, July 13 to 16, 2009. At the event, Dow will also unveil two new DOW FILMTEC elements for brackish water treatment.

Dow's new brackish water reverse osmosis (RO) elements, the DOW FILMTEC BW30HR-440i and BW30XFR-400/34i, allow demineralization and other water treatment systems to operate more consistently and with less cleaning and maintenance, making essential industrial and potable water treatment processes more affordable for power plants, manufacturing operations and municipalities around the world.

The BW30HR-440i and the BW30XFR-400/34i are both essential developments for power generation and electronics manufacturing, enabling key industries in rapidly developing economies. Both technologies reduce system operating and maintenance costs through improved water quality and extended membrane life, enabling lower cost purified water.

As part of conference, Dow Water & Process Solutions expert Kelly Lange-Haider will present a poster on “Working The Bugs Out—Literally,” which details the use of DOW Ultrafiltration membranes at an exploratory mine in Montana to treat dewatering flows. The poster session will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel.
