RJN Group Awarded Two Design-Build Projects

Feb. 27, 2012
Both are sewer relocations, located in Missouri, Illinois

Two design-build projects were awarded to RJN Group Inc. in late 2011. Both are contractor-led sewer relocation projects, driven by redevelopment efforts in St. Louis and Southwestern Illinois.

The first project is located in downtown St. Louis and involves storm sewer relocation for the Abrams Federal Building. Roof drains, terrace drains, and interior storm piping systems were rerouted to accommodate construction of a new entrance to the underground parking garage. The new system was then connected to existing St. Louis MSD facilities in the street.

The second project is located in East St. Louis, Ill., and involves storm and sanitary sewer relocation as part of the construction of the New Mississippi River Bridge. IDOT construction of relocated highways required the sewers of Polarville Cold Storage warehouse to be resized and rerouted to new storm and sanitary trunk sewers on the opposite side of the property.

RJN’s Chad Janson, P.E., is serving as the design project manager. Bi-State Utilities Company, a full-service, licensed and bonded contractor located in Bridgeton, Mo., is acting as contractor and lead firm in both projects.
