Consulting Firm Launches to Address Business Challenges

Feb. 20, 2015
New consulting firm will operate as wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Global

Hawksley Consulting, a business consulting firm focused on developing integrated solutions for utilities, government agencies and private industries, has launched as a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Global.

The newly formed company’s business consultants, who have expertise in strategy, finance, risk management, asset management, stakeholder engagement and environmental and social sustainability, were all previously part of the management consulting business unit of MWH.

MWH leaders decided to rebrand this business area as Hawksley Consulting to better focus on and address the increasingly complex challenges faced by government leaders, utility owners and private industries—ranging from greater regulatory requirements to budget constraints to aging infrastructure.

“We will continue to focus on helping clients using our global experience and local knowledge to achieve better outcomes,” said Dan McConville, president of Hawksley Consulting. “Our experienced business consultants combine these skills with the technical knowledge and services within MWH to determine the best solutions for our clients.”

The firm will continue to work closely with the MWH engineering and construction businesses while also establishing and expanding its business consulting services, which include financial planning, affordability analyses, strategic planning, asset management planning and stakeholder engagement programs.

Hawksley Consulting is currently operating in the U.S., with the new brand rolling out in the U.K., Asia Pacific and the Middle East during 2015. Hawksley Consulting, which is based in Broomfield, Colo., plans to be operating globally by early 2016.

“The change is expected to be seamless for current clients,” said McConville. “Contracts, work and consultants will remain the same during the transition to Hawksley Consulting.”

Hawksley Consulting is currently providing local solutions to global clients ranging from strategic planning, organizational assessment and financial planning services in the U.S. to predictive analytics solutions and stakeholder engagement services in Australia. The firm's experts also provide guidance to the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Planning Institute of Australia, the American Water Works Assn., the Water Environment Federation and other organizations.

The firm is named after Thomas Hawksley, a 19th century visionary who used his passion and skills to envision better public infrastructure and healthier communities. In 1992, Watson Hawksley, a U.K.-based engineering firm co-founded by Thomas Hawksley, merged with James M. Montgomery Consulting Eng. in the U.S. to become part of the MWH brand.
