Louisville MSD selected Severn Trent Services to conduct a phased Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey for the purposes of determining the origins of severe Inflow/Infiltration in the collection system. Further objectives of the project included the population and upgrade of the MSD's infrastructure management system to Hansen Ver 7.0. Severn Trent Services, acting as a sub-consultant to PDR Engineers of Louisville, conducted temporary flow monitoring, field inspection and database population for MSD. Severn Trent worked closely with the Information Management Systems division of MSD in order to ensure that conversion of data from the old version of Hansen was both complete and accurate. Severn Trent field crews collected all field information in Hansen's Field WorksTM software and all data was transferred to a central data processing computer located in the project headquarters offices. Severn Trent was responsible for organization and completion of field testing activities including direction of minority sub-consultants participating on the project. The evaluation was conducted in different locations in Louisville. These locations included: Louisville and Jefferson Counties, Jeffersontown, Pope Lick and McNeely Lake. The scope of the project consisted of 136 flow monitoring sites, 21 rain gauge sites, 1,115 manhole inspections, 307,552 l.f. of smoke testing, 125 flow isolations, 71,250 l.f. internal TV inspection and 65 dye water flooding sites.
