BASF Hires Two Sales Contacts

Tim LeTourneau & Scott Caothien join the sales team

BASF’s Water Solutions business recently hired two U.S.-based sales contacts, to sell the brand’s inge ultrafiltration membrane solutions that treat drinking, process, waste and sea water.

Tim LeTourneau will serve as head of membrane solutions. LeTourneau has more than 25 years of experience in the water industry. For the past nine years, LeTourneau has held a number of leadership roles within Siemens Water Technologies, including director of technology and vice president of sales.

LeTourneau is a registered professional engineer, project management professional, and water system operator. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University, a Master’s Degree in civil/environmental engineering from the University of Kansas, and an MBA from Baker College. LeTourneau is also past chair of the American Water Works Assn. – Michigan Section. He is based in Ada, Mich.

Scott Caothien will serve as technical sales support manager of membrane solutions. Caothien brings 20 years of experience in the water industry and another 8 years in the oil and gas industry. Caothien was recently technical director of Pall Water Processing, providing design and treatment guidance for microfiltration and ultrafiltration processes globally. He also engaged local regulators and clients to validate membrane technologies in emerging markets.

Prior to this role, Caothien was a staff petroleum engineer developing filtration processes for stimulation and hydraulic fracturing operations for oil and gas applications in the Gulf Coast and in Asia Pacific. Caothien earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is based in Irvine, Calif.
