Water professionals will examine how to recover critical business operations in the aftermath of disasters during a 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Eastern), Dec. 6, webcast, titled “Business Continuity for Pandemic, Natural Disaster, & Terrorism.”
Participants will be challenged to think about their emergency response plans from business continuity perspectives. Presenters will discuss issues such as which positions are critical to the continued operation of a utility, how a chain of command might be established, how mental health stresses of employees will be addressed and how communications channels might change.
Speakers for the webcast include Robert Hulshouser, corporate security manager, Las Vegas Valley Water District and Southern Nevada Water Authority; Patricia Lamb, utilities safety and health manager, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities; and Jane Downing, U.S. EPA, chief, Drinking Water Branch, Region One.
