AWWA Receives Standard of Excellence Web Award

Oct. 9, 2003

The American Water Works Association (AWWA), the authoritative resource on safe drinking water, announced that its website has received the Standard of Excellence WebAward in the 2003 WebAward Competition, hosted by the Web Marketing Association.

The AWWA site, www.awwa.org, was praised by the judges for a nicely coded site that provides clear navigation and a clear mission, making for a useful and informative site.

This is the second Standard of Excellence WebAward the AWWA site has received; AWWA received the 2002 award for its redesign of the site. The AWWA site was selected over 1,000 entries from 19 countries. Entries were judged on design, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use, and use of technology. The competition was judged by a Web Marketing Association panel of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development.

"It’s an honor to be recognized as one of the best Web sites on the Internet," said Cha Snyder, AWWA Web Operations Manager. "As we strive to provide timely and applicable information on the drinking water profession, it’s an honor to be recognized by the Web site community for excellence in Web technologies."
