The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) will present "Target America: The New Reality of Terrorism" on Dec. 14, 2001, at the Ritz Carlton-Pentagon City in Arlington, Va. This one-day conference is designed to be an eye-opening look at biological and chemical threats facing the United States and how they play a role in the new reality of terrorism.
Judith Miller of the New York Times will be among the featured speakers of this intensive conference, which will offer recommendations as to what actions can be taken to impede potential terrorist attacks and mitigate their effects against our nation's people, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
Sponsored by the ASIS Council on Global Terrorism, Political Instability, and International Crime, this intensive conference will offer Recognized subject matter experts will explore these key areas:
• The threat of terrorist attacks against Americans using biological and chemical weapons;
• The impact of an attack directed against the nation's agricultural base, our food and water, and other critical infrastructure;
• The potential for retail shopping centers as a terrorist target.
