Dec. 18, 2006

The Aquion Water Treatment Products (AWTP), LLC Operations Group announced multiple promotions as the company moves forward in the implementation of its new initiative, Achieving Competitive Excellence (A.C.E), aimed at improving customer satisfaction through enhanced manufacturing capability and world class quality systems.

“Our business requires a flexible organization that can respond quickly to the demands of the customer and yet foster an environment of communication and empowerment,” said Tom Hudock, vice president of operations. Strategic realignment of existing departments and processes are the first steps of the new initiative.

Steve Swiderski, AWTP’s former director of purchasing, has been promoted to the position of director, supply chain management. In this new position, Swiderski’s responsibilities include not only purchasing, but also production control and receiving. This allows for continuity of planning and processing of all materials from point-of-procurement through point-of-application, within one area of coordination providing enhanced material improvement and improved inventory turns.

During Swiderski’s 12-year history with AWTP, LLC, he has held a variety of positions in purchasing and manufacturing. Swiderski holds certifications from DePaul University in Production and Inventory Control as well as Purchasing Management.

Rob Chase has been promoted to superintendent of valve and reverse osmosis assembly. In this position, Chase assumes responsibilities in bringing both former departments together, concentrating assembly for all AWTP products within a single team, cultivating a greater variety of product knowledge and enhancing production capability. Chase is uniquely qualified for this position using his 25 years experience at AWTP working in and/or supervising various departments from assembly through testing.

Dave Cruz moves into the newly created position of superintendent of final assembly, shipping, parts and literature. With this promotion, Cruz will be responsible for coordination of all shipments to the customer, whether it be a parts order or an order for complete systems, thus improving service to the customer and reduced costs for the company.
