ALTA Environmental Hires Director of Business Development, Senior Consultant

ALTA Environmental, an environmental and engineering firm, hired Ghina Yamout, Ph.D., as the director of business development and senior consultant within the firm’s Water Resources Services.

With more than 13 years of interdisciplinary technical and policy experience in environmental and water resource management, Yamout will leverage her expertise in large-scale environmental improvement projects, watershed management and long-range water resources supply planning to provide leadership for ALTA clients throughout Southern California.

Yamout’s experience in long-range water resources supply management and conservation planning includes water demand assessment, water portfolio analysis, policy evaluation, state and federal compliance, and water rights. Most recently she helped develop an Enhanced Watershed Management Plan and coordinated an Integrated Monitoring Program in Los Angeles County to comply with the MS4 NPDES permit. She has also been actively involved in grant writing and conference organization with Groundwater Resources Association, the ADD Water Initiative in Arizona, the Decision Theatre at Arizona State University, and the East Valley Water Forum.

“Ghina’s ability to work effectively in the public and private sectors, as well as her environmental policy expertise, makes her the ideal fit for ALTA,” said Lisa Kay, President of ALTA. “She’ll help ensure we continue to grow our Water Resources Services and help clients effectively deal with operational and compliance challenges; new water restrictions and regulations, the drought and more.”

Yamout received her Doctoral degree in water resources management from the University of Florida, as well as a Masters of Science in environmental engineering and Bachelors of Science in chemistry from the American University of Beirut.
