ADS Hires Kurdziel as Director of Technical Services and Market Development

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., (ADS) has hired John M. Kurdziel, P.E., for the newly created position of director of technical services and market development.

A graduate of The Cooper Union in civil engineering, Kurdziel is a recognized authority in structural design and installation of storm sewer pipe and culverts. Beginning his career as project manager for the Federal Highway Administration, Kurdziel also has served as Director of Technical Services for the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA), director of marketing and sales for ESSROC, and vice president of engineering and marketing for North Star Concrete Company.

During his career, Kurdziel has authored or co-authored more than 35 publications related to the drainage industry. For more than 20 years, Kurdziel has served and continues to serve in committee memberships for the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHTO), the American Standards and Testing Materials (ASTM), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and ACPA. He has further earned the Federal Highway Association’s (FHWA) Award of Excellence, ASTM’s Award of Merit and honorary title of "Fellow." He is also registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in four states.

Along with his numerous publications, Kurdziel also has written more than 15 design manuals covering structural design, hydraulic design, quality assurance, and installation and inspection for storm sewer pipe and culverts.

"John will focus his efforts to expand market opportunities for our N-12® pipe and solidify our leadership position in the stormwater drainage industry," Chlapaty said. "His reputation as a trusted industry expert will be further enhanced with his new undertaking in the plastic pipe industry."
