2014 State of the Industry Snapshots

Preliminary results of Water & Wastes Digest’s 2014 State of the Industry Report are in, and the findings are quite optimistic for the water and wastewater industry.

Eight in 10 (80%) of survey respondents rated this year good to better, with another 8% stating it was excellent. Projections for 2015 are even more positive, with 86% expecting it will be good or better and 10% stating it will be excellent.

Plans for new construction and facility upgrades also forecast growth for the water sector in 2015. Almost one-third (32%) of respondents are planning construction of new water and wastewater facilities within the next 24 months. An additional 7% have new construction plans within 36 months. More than half (59%) are planning to upgrade their facilities within the next 24 to 36 months.
